What is the best way to prolonge the life of my car's transmission?
Every vehicle comes with an owner's manual that tells you to maintain and service your car regularly, especially in extreme conditions like we have in Colorado. This means regular maintenance of your vehicle can help you avoid costly repairs.
Why do transmissions fail?
The reasons could be mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or due to driver misuse or abuse. There are more failures in times of extreme heat and extreme cold, which is why regular maintenance is so important.
How should I shop for a transmission?
I understand that cost and budget are a concern, but that is the worst way to choose a transmission repair shop. Ours is a service industry, so it's not like comparing prices on a flat screen TV. Your end results needs to be a well-functioning vehicle, so equally as important as price is the integrity of the company, how long they've been in business and the type of warranty they offer. Besides, anyone worth their salt will be priced competitively.
Why can't I get a quote for the repair over the phone?
Anyone who gives a steadfast price over the phone is either guessing or lying. At this point they don't know if the car is black, white, pink, or purple, much less what wrong with it. My recommendation is bring it in and let's take a look at it so we can get an accurate diagnosis and then plan a proper course of repair.
Why do prices vary so much?
I compare it to calling a doctor and saying I have a pain in my chest, what's it going to cost to make it go away? There are anywhere between 200 to 700 parts in a transmission, depending on the type. Therefore the price will be different for every failure, because no two failures are alike.
How long will it take to make the repair?
The diagnosis can take anywhere from an hour to a day. We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 – 6:00. We accept both drop-ins and appointments.
Do you offer other car repair services?
Yes, we offer a range of general auto repair services and scheduled maintenance.
Where are you located?
We are at 6830 S Jordan Rd Centennial, CO 80112, literally on the border of Aurora, CO and Centennial, CO.
